Meatloaf is another classic American meal that makes a kitchen feel like home. It is important to get this recipe right if you want to impress friends and guests who have pretty high expectations from their personal mom’s kitchen. When I’m cooking meatloaf if brings back not just memories of being at home and with family but specific holidays. We each have recipes that are dear to our hearts and my personal meatloaf recipe has become increasing more important to me over the years.

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef

1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper

1.5 teaspoons of salt

1/3 cup chopped onion

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 beaten egg

1/4 cup ketchup

1 cup dried bread crumbs

Ingredients and Directions:

You will want to start by preheating the oven. Set the temperature to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowel. prepare a 4×8 inch baking pan. Do not grease or oil the pan. Fill the pan with the prepared ingredients. Let the ingredients cook for 40 minutes. After the 40 minutes check to see if the meatloaf is cooked by placing a dry knife into the center of the pan.

Since this recipe includes red meat it should be eaten in moderation. We mostly want to teach good eating habits here on at the Food Shed. If you decide to use red meat substitutes or a portion of red meat substitutes it is even better. The risks associated with heart disease and eating red meat are extremely concerning and should be taken into consideration in all dietary options.

While meatloaf is one of my most memorable recipes that are associated with my past it doesn’t make it the most healthy option for the dinner table. We here at the food shed have decided that we want to teach people healthy eating habits. We consult with healthcare providers to build recipes and raise concerns to people related to healthy eating habits.
The healthcare providers we consult have their ACLS online certification. They have been trained to help individuals in the time of crisis of a heart attack or stroke and want to prevent these events at all cost. These ACLS online certified healthcare workers want to not just teach us healthy lifestyle habits but also help us realize how easy they are to implement. What would you give to lower your chance for a heart attack or stroke by 40%? These possibilities are real and reachable without huge changes in diet or lifestyle. Many of these ACLS online certified providers are also certified in PALS and BLS certification. We urge each of our readers to continue the search to build better eating and lifestyle habits. Thanks for reading and please share your thoughts.
