GGRFSC Mission: To build a just and sustainable, locally oriented food system for West Michigan; through research, education, advocacy, projects, and networking.

committee CGC Mission: The GGRFSC Gardens Committee, with particular focus on community gardens, shall promote food gardening/landscaping, shall develop a network of gardeners, and shall seek to institutionalize support for gardening.

The Community Gardens Committee was formed in 2003. Our major effort at this time is to expand the community gardens network that we have been developing. This includes gardeners, funders and other supporters, and anyone else interested. Our objectives are to expand community gardens and to support each other through sharing of seeds, plants, produce, tools, knowledge, and other resources.

We meet on an ad hoc basis, as needed. We are presently all-volunteer. We are seeking funding for someone at least part-time, which will better enable us to meet the need for support for gardeners and potential gardeners.
